Bio-tiful Kefir: The most effective natural probiotic food

View the whole press release

Visitors to the International Food and Drink Exhibition (IFE) at ExCeL London, between 19 and 22 March, will get the opportunity to sample, first hand, a product that has been heralded as most effective for gut health by independent BBC2 show, Trust Me I’m A Doctor.

In the documentary, Kefir, a traditional product that dates back some 2,000 years, was found to be better for digestive health than prebiotic vegetables and commercial probiotic shot drinks. Volunteers in the experiment who drank Kefir every day for four weeks saw a rise in a family of bacteria called Lactobacillales, great for overall gut health, digestion and immunity.

Now, Bio-tiful Dairy – producers of the country’s best-selling and most widely-available Kefir product – will be exhibiting at the IFE at stand N2323. The company is on a mission to bring natural, high-quality Kefir to the increasingly health conscious UK market.

Using simple, pure ingredients (just whole cow’s milk and live cultures), Bio-tiful lets nature do all of the hard work. Packed with billions of gut-friendly bacteria, Bio-tiful Kefir also supports digestion and immunity, boosts energy levels, helps with weight management and is full of essential vitamins and minerals. It’s high in protein and calcium, and it’s better for digestive health than yoghurt (with over 40 strands of good bacteria, compared to just a couple in yoghurt).

The product is made using a modern version of a 2,000 year old recipe, where live cultures ferment ethically produced and locally-sourced British milk. This is all done in a sustainable manner, using state-of-the-art innovative processes.

Natasha Bowes, Managing Director and founder of Bio-tiful Dairy, says: “Coming from Russia, I have been drinking Kefir every day since I was a child. When I moved to the UK, I struggled to find Kefir, let alone anything of the quality that I liked. So I set up Bio-tiful Dairy to fulfil my dream of making this probiotic superfood available to health-conscious people in the UK.”

Bio-tiful Kefir is at the forefront of a booming sector. Demand for naturally functional, fermented products is increasing, as is the consumer’s desire for healthy and convenient products. According to research firm MarketsandMarkets, the global probiotics market is growing at 7% per year and is expected to reach $15 billion in U.S sales by 2019, with 70% of probiotics globally being dairy.

Kefir can be enjoyed as a drink, a guilt-free dessert, or added to smoothies and poured over fruit and cereal. Try for yourself at IFE stand N2323, where the Bio-tiful Dairy team will be hosting breakfast from 11am on their stand, on each day of the show.
