Artisan Grains showcases new Microwaveable Range at IFE

View the whole press release

The popular Artisan Grains brand has unveiled its new Microwaveable Grains range, starting with two exciting varieties: Wholegrain Freekeh and Quinoa.

Meeting the growing demand for healthy, convenient grains, the new range is high in fibre, a great source of protein, suitable for vegetarians and ready in just 60-90 seconds in the microwave.

Freekeh (pronounced free-kah) is a super-grain of toasted young wheat that is growing in popularity around the world. These highly nutritious, small, light coloured toasted whole grains have a delicate smoky flavour and masses of health benefits including four times the fibre of brown rice and a low GI.

Quinoa is a type of small, grain-like seed, which has a delicately nutty flavour when cooked. Quinoa is highly nutritious as it contains all 9 Essential Amino Acids. It is naturally wheat-free, gluten-free, and makes an excellent alternative to rice, pasta or couscous.

With a distinctive, brightly coloured and impactful design, the microwaveable pouches serve two people and are presented in 6 x 250g microwaveable pouches in shelf-ready packaging with a RSP of £2.00.

Produced by Bristol-based food company First Quality Foods, brand owner of Artisan Grains, the new Microwaveable Grains combine simple, all-natural ingredients with the goodness of Quinoa and Wholegrain Freekeh, and will make these harder to cook grains more accessible to busy consumers.

Known for their original selection of high-quality vegan and vegetarian products such as Quinoa blends and Greenwheat Freekeh, Artisan Grains is extending the brand into a new category and building on the popularity of their grains, seeds and vegan Nut Roast mixes.

Paula Boardman, Commercial Manager of First Quality Foods, explained: “We are very excited about the new Microwaveable Grain packs as they take great tasting grains and make them ideal for today’s busy lifestyles and for consumers who may not have the time or knowledge to prepare great tasting meals with dried grains. This range extension offers convenience and can be eaten directly out of the pouch or combined with other ingredients to make a quick and delicious meal.”

Artisan Grains’ Microwaveable Range is now available in a wide number of independent health food stores, farm shops and various online stores.
