Ginger & Parsley – Gourmet Frozen Meals at IFE

View the whole press release

Ginger & Parsley is the first business in the UK to offer a range of delicious, gourmet, yet nutritional, frozen meals using the best possible quality ingredients; free-range, slow-growing chicken, grass-fed, free-range pork, lamb and beef, MSC certified fish and organic vegetables, and will be exhibiting at IFE for the first time.

Ginger & Parsley meals are made with the best possible quality ingredients, all frozen at minus 35˚c within 30 minutes of cooking using a blast freezer. This freezing method helps to lock-in all the nutrition, taste and texture before the meals are delivered to people’s homes. Currently Ginger & Parsley only delivers to customers in London as well as selling their meals in local food markets but they hope to extend the area of delivery soon. Ginger & Parsley will also be stocked in a couple of delicatessens in London from March, and they are keen to be listed by more delis and high end independent retailers nationally.
There are 13 adult main meals to choose from that are not only inspiring – how about Beetroot Stew with Lamb Meatballs or Black Squid Ink Paella with squid and prawns – but cater for dairy free, gluten free, vegetarian and vegan diets. There are even meals that cater for the nutritional needs of new mums and for those seeking to detox such as Cauliflower Risotto with brown and wild mushrooms or Pan-fried hake with wild rocket and parsley vichysoisse. The meals available also change on a regular basis because seasonal ingredients are used. Ginger & Parsley meals come in two portion sizes; individual or for two people and are more generous serves than standard ready meals. Adult meals start from £8.50 for an individual portion.

Ginger & Parsley not only caters for adults but has a collection of healthy children’s meals too into which as many vegetables as possible are crammed (some in disguise to limit rejection)! These include Chicken Meatballs with seven veggies, Cottage Pie with eight veggies, Butternut Squash Risotto and Fish Pie with six veggies

. Each portion is 500g which comfortably feeds two children and the range caters for dietary requirements such as gluten free, dairy free or vegetarian while all children’s meals contain no added salt or sugar. Children’s meals retail for £6.50 per 500g portion.
The brainchild of Michelle Le Goff, Ginger & Parsley was launched to help busy individuals and families eat healthy, balanced, good quality and delicious meals but minus the hassle of planning, shopping and cooking. Having moved last April from a job in digital strategies in the City, Michelle wanted to apply the same strategic thinking to arrive at a solution to help time strapped mothers and professionals juggling jobs with children, or those simply seeking a better work-life balance and who want to eat well and healthily while not stinting on quality and taste.

Michelle was partly inspired in her love of food by time spent living in different countries from Australia, South East Asia, France and of course England with elements of those regions’ cuisines evident in her meals.

Michelle jokes: “I love cooking generally but I especially love cooking for friends and family; for me there is no better way of spending time than sharing a meal with those you love. I don’t have children of my own yet but I have watched women juggle their lives, wanting to do their best both professionally and as a mother and food can often be a tricky area. It’s time consuming not only in terms of preparing home-cooked, fresh, tasty food but just thinking about what you are going to give your family every night takes time too. I have tried to de-stress that element of their lives by providing high quality, healthy but delicious meals that can be ready in minutes.”
