Luxury tea brand, The Tea Makers of London, are expanding their trade services to meet new market demands prompted by growth in the speciality tea segment.

17th of February 2017

Due to a pivotal change in consumer lifestyle choices, The Tea Makers of London have experienced steady growth during the seven years since the launch of the brand. The company has positioned itself as a specialist in high-quality loose leaf tea and is steadily establishing a reputation as an expert within the field.

Recent years have seen a shift in the Western tea market. In a report from 2016, market researcher Mintel indicates that younger consumers in Britain are steering away from traditional ‘cuppas’, in favour of more specialist teas. This is a symptom of a growing interest - amongst Western consumers - in craft and artisan food.

Marketing Executive for The Tea Makers of London, Maja Alice Dybdal, points to two pivotal trends, that are emerging amongst the brand’s customer base. Some of their customers are continuously seeking new and exciting flavour experiences and are very interested in healthy and exotic green, herbal and fruity teas. Others are treating tea as the non-alcoholic equivalent of fine wines - something to explore, collect and cherish. For both groups, tea drinking is a hobby that brings joy to their daily lives.

To accommodate this significant development in the tea market, the company has expanded its range to include over 100 loose leaf teas from revered tea regions around the world.

From the 19th to 22nd of March 2017, the brand will be exhibiting their range of innovative retail products at the IFE trade show, which will be hosted at ExCel, London.

During the show, The Tea Makers of London will be showcasing their new hospitality products and services, which include their latest catering accessories, as well as a brand-new collection of envelope teabags.

Founder of the company, Sam Sameen states: “Due to the rising interest in speciality teas, we are expanding our trade services. For us, creating the perfect cup of tea is as much a science as it is a form of art. Seemingly small factors - such as water chemistry, temperature and brewing time - can hugely affect the outcome of the brew. We want to use our knowledge of tea to create an outstanding tea experience for the end-customer. Our aim is to help our hospitality clients make tea-drinking an unforgettable fine dining experience”.

For more information about the brand’s new services and products, they invite you to visit them at IFE 2017. Entry is free when you register online at ‘’. The Tea Makers of London will be ready to answer your questions at stand no. N2542, which is located in the Great British & Irish Food section.
