URBAN CORDIAL COMPANY JUICES UP THE PREMIUM CORDIAL SECTOR

View the whole press release

First time exhibitors The Urban Cordial Company is aiming to shake up the premium cordial offering for cocktails and mocktails with its seasonal, locally-sourced range of cordials. The range, already used at Bourne & Hollingsworth, The Ledbury, The Happenstance amongst many others, includes Pear & Ginger, Blackberry & Lavender, and Apple Lemon and Fennel, are all made by Londoner Natasha Steele, who created the brand after not being able to find a cordial to suit her taste.
The Urban Cordial Company’s mantra is to only source ingredients from the UK and ones which are in season, meaning that recipe change with those seasons. This offers Natasha flexibility on what she buys and makes and means that her customers are always finding new varieties. In the beginning, Natasha foraged for her fruits and herbs, which has now become unsustainable as they brand has grown, but demonstrates the ethos. Now, the majority of fruit used in the cordials are ones the supermarkets don’t want – wonky, ugly ones, thus reducing wastage.
“This product was borne out of sheer frustration at not being able to find a high quality cordial, made using British, seasonal ingredients. What started out as a weekend hobby quickly became a full-time job, taking it to farmer’s markets and local food festivals in and around London. I am thrilled that major groups such as Drake & Morgan have taken it on and my sights are now set firmly on high end restaurants, more bars, hotels and pub groups.”
Natasha already enjoys some exciting retail listings, such as Selfridges, Melrose & Morgan, Craved, FarmDrop and Jones of Brockley.
Product available upon request. The brand is available to buy direct for the on trade and independent sector. To book your tasting with Natasha, or to check prices and availability, please contact hello@theurbancordialcompany.co.uk
