Double Victory for Fresh RM in Prestigious Exhibition Industry Awards
Fresh RM scooped both the ‘Green Award’ for its sustainability policy and ‘Rising Star’ for marketing executive Clare Barker at the Exhibition News Awards on 20th May 2011.
The Green Award was won as a result of Fresh's pioneering sustainability policy, which operates across the group and sees all its events run to the Sustainable Event Management Standard BS 8901.
Fresh RM Group Event Director Toby Wand says, "We're delighted our efforts have now been recognised at this level. Sustainability has for a long time been high on the agenda within Fresh RM's markets of food and hospitality and it's obviously important we embrace the same challenges. By working hard on focusing our teams to become more sustainable, then engaging with our thousands of customers to behave in the same way, we're aiming to deliver better events that will ultimately reduce our environmental footprint."
The Rising Star Award saw Clare Barker recognised for her achievements in the marketing team on Speciality & Fine Food Fair and IFE. In addition to contributing to a 5% audience growth in the face of a tube strike on Speciality & Fine Food Fair, Barker was also instrumental in delivering IFE's first ‘Meet the Buyer’ event, which involved over 350 meetings for buying teams from the likes of Asda, Sainsbury's and the London Organising Committee for the London Olympic Games (LOCOG).
