Tokunbo Koiki, a multifaceted former social worker, stylist, facilitator and chef, is the founder of Tokunbo's Kitchen, an award-winning food brand bringing a taste of Nigeria to the world. Tokunbo means ‘From across the Sea’ in Yoruba – a language and tribe from Nigeria. In the true embodiment of her name, Tokunbo has brought her heritage from across the sea and over the past three years, shared her passion for the numerous culinary delights that Nigeria has to offer.
Whether at one of her pop up and supper club events or at a street food market in the heart of London, Tokunbo recreates authentic Nigerian dishes with a modern twist to offer diners the delights of delicious home cooked food. She has a fervent desire to build communities and food, a great unifier, is just one of the means in which she uses to accomplish this.
