The North Aegean Islands (Lemnos, Lesvos, Chios, Samos, Ikaria, Agios Efstratios, Inouses, Psara, Fourni, Thimena) produce and export a great variety of local traditional products on the Food & Beverage industry.

All these products are distinguished and characterized by their purity and high quality, due to the uniqueness of the flora and fauna of the North Aegean Islands, which gives them a distinct flavor.     

Only fiew examples on the Food industry are:

a) the famous table olives and the organic olive oil, produced from millions of olive trees

b) the dairy products and meat, from animals grazing freely in the islands’ pastures, such as the unique “ladotyri” (olive oil cheese) and the “feta” cheese

c) the salted preserves, such as the delicious sardines from the bay of Kalloni, and

d) a lot of sweets, honey, sauces and flour, as long as the unique mastic from Chios.       

Some examples of Beverages are:

a) the most famous ouzo of the world, a pure extract of aniseed and sweet smelling herbs\

b) wines with distinctive aromatic tastes, and

c) a variety of liqueur, juices and soft drinks, produced from the local fruits.
