First established in 1940 as a tea shop, the McColgan family first started serving food from the town centre of Strabane, County Tyrone (McColgan’s Foods, 2021). This quickly grew popular resulting in the family opening a butcher, bakery and Foodhall within the town. Today, two miles from the original shop is a state-of-the-art facility on a 107,000 sq. ft. site that produces award-winning products from scratch.
As the largest independent producer of savoury pastry on the Island of Ireland, McColgan’s supply product including sausage rolls pies and quiche to over 80 customers including Asda, Aldi, Booker, Dunnes Stores and Tesco. These savoury products are sold in large quantities across the Island of Ireland, Mainland UK, and Continental Europe.
