Japan Geographical Indication Council

Stand: 3410
  • | Speciality Food
Our council does promote sales and export of GI system-registered products through cooperation among GI system-registered producer groups in order to stimulate the activities of such groups and raise awareness of the GI protection system. WASHOKU is also featured by respect for diverse and fresh ingredients and their unique tastes. People in different regions across Japan bring out the taste of various local ingredients through their unique techniques . If you would like to serve authentic WASHOKU for your country’s customers, usage of authentic Japanese local ingredients is one of the most preferable alternatives. As such local ingredients, the Japan’s Geographical Indication (GI) products are introduced in this exhibition booth. What is a GI? In Japan, there are many agricultural, forestry, and fishery products which have obtained high quality and reputation as a result of unique production methods and natural characteristics such as regional climate and soil conditions.
