James has led the Marcomms and Public Affairs functions and Environmental sustainability for FareShare for 4 years. Prior to FareShare, James worked for 9 years at the Carbon Trust in climate change and SEDEX in ethical supply chain marketing. He was a trustee of the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust UK from 2013 to 2019, and a long time ago spent 11 years in advertising and marketing agencies. At FareShare, James conceived the ActiveAte campaign to raise awareness of the issue of childhood Holiday Hunger, which Marcus Rashford MBE supports alongside the Full Time Meals partnership with Tom Kerridge. James also conceived the FareShare Surplus with Purpose fund that contributes to the cost to farmers of getting good to eat surplus food to charities, and the FareShare Leading Food Partner recognition scheme that food businesses can use to communicate their best-practice surplus food redistribution credentials.
