Mike Parr originally started PML (Perishable Movements Ltd) back in 2003 with two colleagues, Colin Parry-Williams and Nick Wright. with each member of the founding team investing £50,000 in the start-up. Within just three years, PML became a recognised force in the air freight sector with a focus on imports. Always looking ahead, Mike identified an opportunity to expand the business to include exports and began to dabble in the outward transfer of goods, kicking off with a lucrative deal exporting stands and display units for duty free shops in Hong Kong.

With PML’s reputation as a trusted significant player in the perishable goods sector going from strength to strength, the company’s customers began to question why the business was not including sea freight in its portfolio of services. Bowing to customer demand, PML further diversified into sea freight providing a one-stop shop for the seamless transfer of perishable goods. After 20 years of successfully trading as PML, in July 2023 the company became part of the Seafrigo Group, a global player specialising in food logistics, with a worldwide network comprising 32 office across five continents. PML Seafrigo retains its headquarters in Heathrow, London and operates a state-of-the-art satellite transport and logistics hub in Lympne, Kent.

After over 40 years’ experience in the industry Mike is renowned for his unrivalled specialist knowledge of the requirements for the expedite and efficient movement of temperature-sensitive goods. Mike was also appointed Vice President of the Fresh Produce Consortium in 2017.
