Renée Elliott founded Planet Organic, the UK’s first organic supermarket, in 1995. With her mission to promote health in the community and support the earth’s biodiversity, Renée challenged conventional retailing and showed that values-led, commercially-driven business is Good Business. Renée left Planet Organic in 2016 and set up a business mentoring and personal coaching business. With over 30 years’ experience, she mentors start-ups and small businesses on business planning combined with purpose, resilience, strategy, and self-belief. As a personal coach, Renée delivers BeYourSelf, her course rooted in wellbeing that provides transformational development for leadership teams, entrepreneurs, couples, individuals, and teenagers.

In March 2023, the VC owners of Planet Organic put the business into administration and Renée led a bid to buy her company back. Renée succeeded and stepped back into the business on April 25. She is leading Planet Organic to profitability as a campaigning, values-led business. Renée worked as a volunteer alongside the Soil Association for decades campaigning for sustainable agriculture and better food. She is the author of cutting-edge cookbooks, a prolific motivational speaker, and a full-on mom. Renée has been awarded 50 Most Impactful Social Innovators, Britain’s 100 Most Entrepreneurial Women, London’s 1000 Most Influential People, Businesswomen of the Year and more.
