Bright Brewery

Bright Brewery was born in 2005 in the small tourist mountain town of Bright in North-East Victoria. What was once a quiet regional town has now become one of Australia’s most popular tourism destinations. Nestled between mountains on all sides, it’s the perfect oasis for those looking to escape the city and enjoy world class mountain biking, hiking, snow sports or just relaxing by the river next to the pines.

The brewery was founded by Scott Brandon and his late wife Fiona Reddaway and driven by a desire to brew great, authentic, high-quality independent beer and to share Bright’s spectacular surrounds and environment with everyone who passes through our town.

Bright Brewery is considered a pioneer in the Australian craft beer industry opening our humble brewpub to the public in 2006 housed between two tin sheds with only 4 indoor seats and the rest spilling out onto the adjoining grounds.

In 2012, Bright Brewery underwent substantial redevelopment, transforming the small and simple brewery and bar into an environmentally considered, multipurpose, all-weather venue, with seating capacity for over 500 people.

In 2014, Bright Brewery added a stunning Hop Terrace, providing the most attractive place in Bright to enjoy beers and meals outdoors. Situated just across from the oven’s river, the hop terrace has been created by more brewers than we can count as they place, they decided to start their very own brewpubs.

In 2018 after 13 years in business and a multitude of awards, we invested in and built a state-of-the-art production facility named Fred’s shed in honour of our late founder Fiona “Fred” Reddaway still located within the town to increase our product availability. With our production capacity now increased exponentially, in 2019 we launched into the wider Australian beer market.

Since 2019 we have added our very own high volume canning line along with the addition of a centrifuge system to drastically improve the overall quality and shelf life of our beers.

From 2019 onwards our beers can be found nationally in Australia, throughout specialty stores as well as the best bars and restaurants. In 2020 we began our export journey and now have beer available in 7 foreign countries.

Today, Bright Brewery continues as an independent family business, owned and managed by Scott Brandon with his management team, employing more than 70 local staff. We are driven by our values to be authentic and sustainable in all that we do, and to embrace active lifestyles, celebrated with great beer.

In 2023  Bright Brewery won the accolades of Victoria's best independent lager and Australia's second best as well as being voted Australia's 8th best craft brewer out of over 600 eligable in the largest consumer votes/polls conducted annually.
