Business Development Manager , Legumology

Susan Arkley FIFST has over 30 years of food industry experience, specialising in product development and innovation within SMEs and large global corporations. Susan now manages a portfolio of different roles including working as the Business Development Manager for Legumology Ltd , one of Europe’s largest millers of pulse flours, and working on food development and innovation projects through her consultancy business ‘foodier’. Susan is a Certified Facilitator for Creative ID™, a psychometric tool which unlocks Creative Intelligence by highlighting your creative preferences to show how (not if) you are creative.  She was the inaugural Chair of the IFST Food Innovation Special Interest Group and co-Chairs the IFST Midlands Branch and is a regular judge for the Quality Food and Great Taste awards. Susan is passionate about raising awareness around the opportunities for rewarding careers in the food industry and is a visiting lecturer at University College Birmingham and Cardiff Metropolitan University where she has taught courses on product development and innovation, food manufacturing, food supply and sustainability.
